Upcoming Events

Thank you to everyone who came to tonight's Spring Roll & Game Night social. The turnout was great! I hope everyone had fun and enjoyed the food. We have a few upcoming events within the next week or two. Here's a little reminder:

VSA Fall Picnic & Field Day
-Sunday, October 5th
-12pm to 5pm
-Blatt PE Building (behind the Blatt where the sand volleyball courts are)
-Please bring side snacks (chips, fruit, etc.), we'll provide the main stuff.

VSA General Members' Meeting
-Tuesday, October 14th
-8pm
-Calcott Room 102

VSA Fundraiser Bake Sale
-Monday, October 20th
-11am to 2pm
-Greene St. in front of Russell House
-If you would like to bake some goods, please drop them off to our table by 11am that day or talk to one of the officers to arrange a time to drop off your goods. We also need people to sit at the table and help sell.

VSA Halloween Costume Party
-Friday, October 31st
-8pm
-Long's House (directions will be given at the meeting)
-Costume required for entrance!

Please remember to pay your fees to our treasurer, Rosa Chan. You can pay your fees at any of our events. Fees are $30 for the year and include this year's t-shirt.

1st Meeting Summary

Thank you to everyone who came out to the meeting tonight. It was so nice to see so many new faces and some old faces as well. In case anyone was unable to make it to the meeting or anyone missed any of the announcements, here is a little summary:

Fall Picnic
-This event will have to be rescheduled to accommodate the majority's schedule.

Roll Your Own Spring Roll/Game Night
-Monday, September 29th
-8pm; South Quad Lounge
(Bring any games you may have!)

SC State Fair
-October 8-19
-We all need to choose a day to go to the fair together and enjoy the greatness that is the South Carolina State Fair. Funnel cakes... yay!

2nd VSA Meeting
-Tuesday, October 14th
-8pm; Location TBD

Halloween Party
-Friday, October 31st
-8pm; Long's House
(Directions will be given at the 10/14 meeting)

Charity Poker Tournament
-Saturday, November 8th
-Time TBD; Russell House Ballroom
(We need people to help work the event, i.e. servers and card dealers.)

Remember, in order to get your t-shirts you must first pay the membership fee. The fee is $30 for the year and includes a t-shirt. Additional t-shirts are $15.

We are going to start planning and practicing for our annual charity show in the Spring. If you are interested in being in one of the dances or have an idea for a skit or any other performances, please let one of the officers know.

You can receive text messages about VSA events through the Gamecock Social Network. Log onto VIP and sign up to receive messages from the Vietnamese Student Association.

Service Saturday dates: October 25 & November 22
-Registration opens a few weeks prior. Please sign up under Vietnamese Student Association and let one of the officers know if you sign up to volunteer.
